Hey check out the new gossip! 1) I listen to Holly and Dave having sex. 2) A few Southern Girl Conventions ago, I masturbated watching girls swimming. 3) I was kicked out of Ft. Not Portland
and the truth: 1) Whenever I heard Holly and Dave having sex, I would move in the exact OPPOSITE direction of where the sound came from. And really, if I wanted to listen to them having sex, I could do that from anywhere in the house. It's not exactly quiet stuff. 2) Uhm, I've only gone to one Southern Girls Convention, and that was this year. 3) Pretty much, yeah. Though I'd say I was "leaving" because I still think that if I wanted to stay I could have made arguement for that, and I didn't at all. I wanted to leave.

I'm leaving Ft. NotPortland and I'm not sure where I'm going yet. A few ideas, nothing solid though.
Anyone have a substandard, cheap living arrangement I can fill?

Don't think so.. there's a multitude of reasons we don't want any Tooth & Nail bands (or, for that matter, any other Christian label bands or any other probably-subsidiary-of-a-major-label-label bands) to play that I don't have time to get into right now. No hard feelings or anything, just don't think we can help. Good luck finding something though!

I just bought a Giant Rincon bike for $75 at this funny little resale place a mile from my house that I'm going to sell on ebay. I don't think it'll sell for as much as I thought it would, but, I can probably make $75-150 off of it. Woo

Thanks so much to everyone who played and came to the show last night. I had a great time, once a few small snafus were stomped out, at least. I think I'll keep booking shows =)
I've been making new friends lately and it's awesome.
2 days ago I hung out with Jessica and some of her friends from the social circle that Ayin (the local fun, new-wavy, band with drum pads) comes from. Highlights include root beer, dumpstering a very primitive children's drum machine, catching a giant bug and setting it free outside the motel room, kittens, and learning that the best part about getting your tires slashed is that you learn to take the time when your tires aren't getting slashed for granted.
And yesterday I hung out with Lily, who I met at the Kodan Armada show earlier this week. An intense game of Scrabble was played; I won somehow with over 200 points. I think my lack of skill in bowling has tipped the scales of my Scrabbility. Or something. Then we dumpstered pastries, ate a bunch, gave some to a homeless guy and some to Mr. Cory Popp, and littered the pounds of useless crumbs left in a Hansel and Gretel trail so we'd always be able to find her apartment. And then, in a fit of reckless abandon, snarqued a 2-liter of Vanilla Coke and drank it at her old, vacant apartment. Fuck, I wish I had an old vacant apartment. I'd squat that shit.
Today I have an interview at Iglou internet-placey-place. If I get hired, it will be my first payroll job since January 2001. I'm thinking of either working full-time for a month or two and living off that for the rest of the year, or getting a part-time position with as few hours as possible. We'll see what happens, I guess.
pure Speak my children you will rise, you will find the light before you die. You will take the crytsal stair, ascend the holy atmopshere. You will speak the truth and you will survive. You will shout out my name, wipe the tears from your eyes. You will drink from my cup, whether it's water or wine. You will sow what you sow with that red golden vine.
Speak my children, find the time, don't sacrifice your love divine. You'll never know the sky so fair if you're afraid to climb up there. If the days make you weary, the nights make you run, from the secrets you fear in anticipation: Find your strength and your spirit from the life you live--to your mother you'll always be the righteous one.
while we have the sun Let's take the time to walk together while we have the sun--you never know when tempermental weather's gonna come. And if you want to face the death you're never that far from, just take a breath and sing to it, when all the day is done.
So sorry about all the sorrow in your life you'll know. It's true that all the ones you love will someday have to go. And every time you say goodbye you'll hear the trumpets blow a serenade to the soul surrounded by the glow.
If you feel all boken 'cuz I left you there too soon, just know that it's not up to you to make the flowers wilt or bloom. And if you think you're lonely just listen for the tune of all the stars I left for you in the chest of the moon.
If you want to shake whatever separates you from the holiness you want to make your life on Earth become, live your life with a compassion you can be proud of. And let your last breath fade away with dignity and love.

So, since this happened in the Summer of 2001, I've been avoiding talking about it in any semi-public fashion because of a few reprocussions. I don't want people to second-guess women when they come out with an allegation like the one made against me (But, then again, if people are fucked up enough to sexually assault each other they're fucked up enough to lie about something like that) I also thought that this would just make the situation worse, to drag it into becoming a spectacle. But it very much is already.
( If you know me, and especially if you've heard gossip about me, you should read this. )</lj-cut
Last night was pretty crazy.
I left the house at around 5:45 for a show I was supposed to play at the Sleep Chamber, at six. I was a little worried, but not much, as most shows this time of year are very much on punk rock time (1-3 hours slower, depending on the speed of the wind and other variables). When I got there twenty minutes later, I was the only person for the show who'd arrived yet. A short hour and 40 minutes later, everything was set up, people were trickling in, and I was playing Memento Mori loops in my new song. I really, really need to memorize my lyrics so I can run around like a moron instead of acting like I'm programming things on the computer when I'm really reading the lyrics off the screen. Heehehehe. The other two bands, one who I cannot remember the name of and Ayin were both pretty good and non-standard, especially for the Sleep Chamber. Up the wacky shows!
A bunch of kids were going to Highland coffee after the show, and I wanted to go with. But as I remembered that was a 4 mile bike ride and I was tired already. No one had room for the bike in their trunks or seats or anything, and fuck depending on that anyway--I'll bike that shit anyway!
Halfway to the Highlands, some woman in a red car drove through a yellow light and clipped my front tire. The handlebar smacked me in my lower stomach (good thing I wasn't standing up to pedal or that would have fucking hurt!) and I landed on my hands and a knee. Suprisingly, everything still seems to be in working order; but I think that lady's gonna buy me a new bike because, oh no, the frame is cracked. Not the worst situation, really. But by the time I got to Highland Coffee, it was closing and kids were headed back towards my neighborhood, another four miles. So I sold the fuck out and put my bike in a back seat. Then, a kid with us locked his keys in the trunk, and his dad had to come lend him a spare set.
The rest of the night consisted of bad 90s alternative music (I, obviously, had no control over this!), kittens, flirting, and a broken gumball dispenser. Nothing much of note, really.
Just a reminder, there's the Kodan Armada show tonight and the massive, massive show at my house Saturday and a smaller one Wednesday. Plan on coming--or the kittens get it.
